“The documentary offers compelling insight into why nationals from countries like France or Brazil would volunteer to fight in Donbas.” – NATO Association
In 2014, several westerners volunteered to take part in the War in Donbas. A few of them joined the pro-Russian rebels. Over the course of four months of filming, this documentary follows some of the first fighters to arrive in Donbas. From the implosion of the first unit of foreigners, to the creation of a new one that was humorously named after Varg Vikernes, this is the first work on the pro-Russian foreign fighters where they tell their story in their own words.
